The main gateway to the South Island, Christchurch is a great starting point for your tour. Explore Mt. Cook National Park, Lake Tekapo, Dunedin, Queenstown, Fiordland, Milford Sound, Fox Galcier, Franz Josef and many more iconic locations. Christchurch itself hosts flat-bottomed punts that glide on the Avon River, which navigates through to the city centre. There are some lovely cycling paths and Christchurch Botanic Gardens are a must see!
